Another confusing part of a logo can be those that do include a year. For example, jars that say “1858 Masons Patent”. The logo imprinted on each jar is, by far, the easiest and fastest way to determine the approximate age your Ball mason jar. Other thumbscrew and stopper types like the Moore’s jars date from the 1860s or early 1870s and the unusual Van Vliet’s from the 1880s .
